McSTREAMY.COM (01/07/2016) – Grey’s Anatomy and star Ellen Pompeo were selected by fan votes to be the Favorite Network Television Drama and Favorite Dramatic Actress in the 2016 Peoples Choice Awards Show presented January 06, 2016. The highly popular Ellen DeGeneres was another highlight of the awards show, seen by millions of viewers, most of whom cast their votes for favorites in many categories. DeGeneres was voted the Peoples Choice Favorite Humanitarian and Favorite Daytime TV Host. Ellen D’s acceptance “monologue” was easily one of the comedy high points of the night.

Some other top of the line favorites who received the prestigious award included Fast and Furious 7 (Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Movie), Sandra Bullock (Favorite Movie Actress), Johnny Depp (Favorite Dramatic Movie Actor), Melissa McCarthy (Favorite Comedic Movie Actress), and Meghan Trainor (Favorite Album). Even though Trainor’s album was honored, Taylor Swift is still number one as Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist, while Ed Sheeran became the Peoples Choice Favorite Male Artist.
Two favorite leading actors of a popular television show that is a combination mystery, romance, drama, comedy, deservedly won honors, among the many deserving winners in the Peoples Choice Awards show. Both Stana Katic (Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress) and co-star Nathan Fillian (Favorite TV Crime Drama Actor) won the award for their outstanding on screen chemistry and delightful work in ABC-TV’s “Castle”.
