Letterman stepped in to represent Neil Young, who was unable to induct Pearl Jam, because “Neil couldn’t stay up that late, or, swallowed a harmonica”. He wasn’t sure, which, Letterman quipped. Others who were inducted at the event April 7, 2017, were ELO, Journey, Yes, Joan Baez, and rapper Tupac Shakur, who was inducted posthumously.
