“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive,” the statement read, referring to comments Jimmy Kimmel made about Charlie Kirk’s assassination on Sept. 15.” The statement indicated management spent the last days “having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
There are indications some of the stations may not comply with the company decision to return Kimmel to the ABC Network show. Those stations owned by multiple station groups may show continued displeasure with Kimmel, and instead, replace the time slot with their own programing, in support of the Trump administration’s wish to take the show away from Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel’s truthful-based comedy often shows President Trump in a way Trump, himself, disagrees.
Dictionary.com: notes, “Oblivion: is the state of being completely forgotten or unknown.” Verbal and written online comments by President Trump points out that Donald J. Trump has been attempting to get Kimmel off the air for some time, even to allegedly include applying pressure threatening broadcast license removal to tv stations that carry Kimmel’s show on the American Broadcasting Company television network, which would make it difficult for Kimmel to continue his popularity while being, what would become, an old, forgotten, no longer known comedian and talk show host, living in “oblivion”.
Federal Communications Commission chair Brendan Carr recently told podcaster Benny Johnson on camera: “We can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.” Now that Kimmel has been welcomed back on the air successfully, Carr says Kimmel was absent from the air “because of his ratings”, not from FCC threats. – McSTREAMY NEWS, McStreamy.com
